Disney’s Emoji Blitz is a match 3 puzzle game in which players collect character emoji’s from Disney, Pixar, and Star Wars IPs, complete missions, and earn prizes. Before my work on Disney Magic Match, I worked alongside engineers and UI/UX designers to implement new features, as well as update older features and prefabs wherever possible. Due to working on a lot of features over time, I am only showing off some of my favorite features I worked on!

Stardust Challenges

Stardust Challenges is a feature that was added to replace the daily challenges tab, which still offered missions for players, which then would allow players to get prizes from the wishing star screen. Stardust Challenges was my favorite feature to work on because I loved the space aesthetic and loved the darker UI theme. Working on the wishing star screen was a highlight for me because while building the background, I brought up that parallax scrolling could be a nice addition. It was implemented and we received a lot of positive feedback regarding the feeling of scrolling on the wishing star screen!

This video shows a good example of the wishing star screen parallax!

Daily Missions

Daily missions are a streak of daily missions spanning 14 days, that when each is completed it gives players stardust as a reward, and when completed the entire streak it gives players an emoji! This feature was a challenge as the missions section had very little space to mess with, so trying to show a lot of information made the UI feel very tight.

Emoji Groups

Emoji Groups was added as a feature to release new emojis of similar themes on a month by month basis. As players collect the new emojis and gain duplicates, they win prizes, and will unlock a special emoji once they collect all other emojis in the list.

One Time Offer Sales

One Time Offer Sales is a monetary feature that when a player purchases an item (loot box, coins, hearts, etc.) the One Time Offer Sale popup appears to entice the player to purchase another item at a sale price.
